Below you'll find the wholly-remarkable (if only for the curiousity of why I wrote it down in the first place) ramblings of a, well... er, uhm, whatever I am. Yes, there are a lot of quizzes - consider it self-psychoanalysis... but you'll also find some gems of wisdom from yours truly.

Well, "gems of wisdom" a rough phrase meaning "rant against idiocy."

PLEASE NOTE SOME ENTRIES ARE LISTED (unfortunately) "FRIENDS ONLY," as a little more of my life has been spreading around the Academy than I thought was appropriate. ;-) If you think I could be a better person by adding you to my friends list, drop me a line. By doing so, you'll get the juicy, disturbing, frightening, and I'd-frankly-not-like-to-get-fired bits that are left out of the public version. :-)

In any case, remember the rules:
1) Read and comment all you want, but if you start throwing sarcasm my way, make sure you're prepared to drown in it.
2) I'll say some things that will offend you. I use LJ as a way to be honest with the world (one of the few venues I have available to me), and I can't afford to PC my way around the more thorny bits.
3) If you can't handle lots and lots of News from the World of Science - slowly back away now.

Fortunately, I started LJ late enough that I could retrace and add tags. As I add more to the journal, I'll include them here... so feel free to jump directly to what interests you.

EBaum's World IQ Test

Two important notes:
1) I may have an "approximate* IQ of 147 but I obviously couldn't figure out how to embed the final page. Kept getting "invalid video URL." Obviously my "strength" was not found to be 'fix URL code." :-P ((really wouldn't matter, you can post in whatever IQ you wanted in that code!))
2) [info]wyndebreaker is not allowed to take this test. I refuse to give him my Genius this time!

Okay, a third one:
3) [info]wyndebreaker isn't allowed to fix the URL either. :-P You've stolen my genius for the last time!

Okay fine.
I told myself I'd finally break down and fill in this net-chaos odd-ball quirky thing. And then I stalled long enough that I fortunately forgot about it.

...then I remembered.

So, I'll get it out of the way... besides, I was curious as to what would come up (isn't that why ~anyone~ does this?)

Basic Rules (as if you don't know these by now):
1. Go to www.photobucket.com (don't sign in)
2. Type in your answer to the question in the "search" box
3. Use only the first page
4. Copy the html and paste for the answer

A word of warning... although I can assure you that I left out anything non-PC (well, mostly) out of my searches, that doesn't mean that I picked the most innocent of the images that popped up. ;-P

Yes, I'm a sheep. Sadly, I tend to be attracted to silly quizzes like this one.

In any case, I have always* had two competing (and strangely enough, mutually exclusive) views towards spirituality.

(* "always" being a loose term meaning "since I've been a legal adult")

So I took the test once in one mode, and again in the other.

As per requested by [info]sissyalicia, I tried this one out.

Apparently, I'm far more geeky than I had realized (and not ~nearly~ as cool as I had hoped).

::sigh::

After switching back and forth between those annoying "iffy" answers... I scored both Winston "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!" Zeddemore & Egon "Sorry Venkman, I'm terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought" Spenglar... the two 'no names' of the Ghostbusters crew. ::sob::

But, alas, neither of these were my original result. Now, after all these years, I suppose you can know where [info]littlebella1980 came from.

Your Score: Gary Wallace

Gary Wallace - (Anthony Michael Hall)

Weird Science (1985)

You're Gary Wallace! Okay, let's be honest, you don't have much going for you. The best you can hope for is to have a best friend with a computer that ends up making some kind of super-hot girl with magical powers, and I'll be honest, that's not too likely. You may not really be a scientist, but in the 80's that really didn't stop anyone.

"EVERYTHING'S COOL! Yeah yeah. My dad's gonna castrate me. And my mother almost had like cardiac arrest. My parents are not gonna let me in the house again and if they do I'm gonna be grounded till I'm about 45. But other than that everything's great. Everything's cool. In fact things can't get any better."

BTW, #5 on this quiz is a classic.

B) No, that's what being a magical elf is all about.

This'll teach me for giving into my knee-jerk reaction of completing Vargr's test-memes...

I was sadly expecting Discordian - something for which I am constantly labeled. So when *this* came up, I was momentarily relieved... before the horror crept in.

I am assured through trusted independent channels ([info]littlebella1980 and [info]nightshade1387 among them) that this is correct, though. And, in the end, I suppose that I should have really expected this. It's been a while since "ASSHOLE" has come up on a personality quiz (which is remarkable in its own right), so its time was near.

But why a cat-girl? Leviathan is taking a lunch break or something? Nothing with tentacles was available? The whole label "Otherkin" is kinda overly generic, don't you think? Are they really throwing a Watcher, a Furry, and a Totemic into the same category???

But, in the end, I'm damned by the quote I've said far too often:

"Stupid human feet."

The I & N were clear cut, the T/F was fairly 'iffy' (I often couldn't decide which I wanted), and the J/P category is far different than what I think I used to be. My brain tells me that I grew up as solid INTJ, but somehow morphed into an IN(T/F)P.

I'd argue that INTP and INFP equally describe me, with INTJ coming in second and INFJ a distant third. The other combinations are just alien. :-P

As for the multiple intelligence portion, how Verbal/Linguistic made it into 2nd place baffles me. Of course, it doesn't baffle me NEARLY as much as how MUSIC beat out Interpersonal Intelligence. Seeing as though I have the musical aptitude of a North Atlantic Clam, I must really, really, really not understand people.

...although it's sad that these silly quizzes hit the nail on the head FAR more often than they should.

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

This was surprising considering the answers I gave this quiz. Apparently the samurai ranks are full of dark brooding assassins nowadays.

Samurai
You are a Samurai.
You are full of honour and value respect. You
are not really the stereotypical hero, but you
do fight for good. Just in your own way. For
you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evil
person, if it is for justice and peace. You
also don't belive in mourning all the time and
think that once you've hit a bad stage in life
you just have to get up again. It's pointless
to concentrate on emotional pain and better to
just get on with everything. You also are a
down to earth type of person and think before
you act. Impulsive people may annoy you
somewhat.

A decent warriors, reasonable spell-caster, and fairly good at tricking

by their wits, though a sharp blade, a few spells, and some lockpicks
never hurt.

Smart, sneaky, and aggressive, you're probably good at most things
you try. You don't have much need for spirituality or superstition and
are much more likely to live in the here and now... and if you can get
some fun and profit out of the here and now, even better.

...apparently not, with only 5% actually scoring Justice. Does anyone know where I can find the total results of that quiz? (i.e. what percentage scored each card?)

The Justice Card
You are the Justice card. Justice preserves the
harmony of the world. Working with opposite
forces, Justice does not seek to criticize or
condemn but rather to accept. The idea behind
the card justice is that opposite forces are
complementary; you could not have good without
evil or light without darkness. Justice's
position is to make sure that if a thing is out
of balance, the weight of its energy is
realigned with its opposite force. This card is
also a card of humour, for it is in pointing
out contrary positions that humour is often
found. The attitude that is found in the
humourous person, being able to shift
perspective and flow with an instinct, is
important in the maintenance of good balance.
